My work explores the limitless possibilities of de-contextualizing and reassembling images, words, and objects to give new meaning to used and discarded fragments of everyday life. The composition of these scraps into my ultimate collages and assemblages is the culmination of a cycle of searching, seeing, collecting, cutting, tearing, folding, assembling, rearranging, marking, and peeling away elements until a composition emerges that is visually and emotionally resonant for me. I enjoy working across a broad range of materials, techniques, and themes with the belief that yesterday’s newspaper, a 1950s Life Magazine photo, and a centuries old illustration can be woven together to tell a new story.
